MS Shift is seeking a highly motivated Senior Database Engineer to join our growing team, playing a pivotal role in scaling our database systems for global expansion. In this role, you’ll ensure our databases are robust, efficient, and scalable, supporting thousands of concurrent users. You’ll leverage your expertise in database management, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and lead projects to enhance our database infrastructure. Your work will directly contribute to our mission of providing exceptional recruiting software, ensuring high availability and performance of our systems.

• Ensure the availability, scalability, and performance of the company’s database systems.

• Analyze solutions and implement best practices for database management.

• Design, build, and maintain core database infrastructure.

• Design, develop, and implement database schemas, tables, views, stored procedures, and functions.

• Install, configure, and upgrade database software and related tools.

• Monitor database performance, availability, and security.

• Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, and patching.

• Perform routine database maintenance tasks such as data purging, indexing, and statistics updates.

• Implement and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.

• Plan and manage the capacity of database infrastructure.

• Develop tools and automation to simplify database operations.

• Collaborate with the development team on production changes and incident mitigation

• Provide database expertise to engineering teams.

• Lead database-related projects, ensuring timely delivery.

• MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

• Analytical skills with experience in troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.

• Independent project delivery and passion for cloud technologies and automation

• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.

• 8+ years of experience with relational databases in production environments

• Data modeling and structure design expertise

• Experience with major cloud providers

• Proficiency in MySQL, MS SQL databases

• Experience with MySQL Workbench
