Loews Miami Beach is a beachfront resort in Miami Beach, Florida, where the Security and Safety department protects guests, staff and the property around the clock. For Bill Glover, Director of Security and Safety, the search for a better system started with a single pain point — the manual logs behind shipping and receiving — and quickly grew into a property-wide change.

The Challenge

Like many properties, the department had built up years of multiple systems and logbooks. Shipping and receiving ran on manual logs, and critical functions were spread across separate platforms and stacks of hard copy — phone lists, pass-on binders and notes. The result was duplicated effort, extra printing, and a Director who had to look in several places to see what was happening across the property.

The Solution

Glover’s team ordered MS SHIFT, held onsite training with an MS SHIFT representative and implemented it across the hotel. They consolidated shipments, the shift activity log, barring notices, lost and found, keys, visitors, incident reports and patrols onto one platform. Officers in the field complete patrols, file incident reports, respond to activity and upload photos from a single device, while the welcome screen handles handover, contacts and informational sections — security-only alerts can be saved as a PDF, uploaded once, and seen by every officer at login.
